Never Saw This Before

Have you ever read a passage of scripture over and over again and then saw something different when reading it... like you just read the passage for the first time? Me too! It just happened to me this week!

Here's the passage from Matthew 26. We are in the courtyard with Peter just after Jesus has been arrested...

Meanwhile, Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard.

Two servant girls and bystanders say...

"You were one of those with Jesus the Galilean.”

“This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

“You must be one of them; we can tell by your Galilean accent.”

But Peter denies it by saying...

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“I don’t even know the man.”

“A curse on me if I’m lying—I don’t know the man!”

Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.

Looking deeper... here's what the Lord wanted me to see...

Most people focus on Peter denying me three times but they miss the point Peter's walk, his mannerisms, and the words he spoke all reflected he had been with me... which is what I want from you! I want you to walk through a crowd and have people not be able to help but notice you have been with me! How you walk... how you act... how you respond to situations... the words coming out of your mouth... all point to you having been with me! You can't deny it... You've been with Me!

Lord... let my life reflect your constant presence in my life. Let all I come in contact with this week accuse me of being with You! I want to carry your aura...your peace... your grace... your love... just from hanging out with You!
